Today's word is "fossick" ... fos-ik ... Australian. to hunt; seek; ferret out. (Dictionary.com)
Dim
Overwhelmed by bad news,
We face the dawn alone,
Wondering, if by some chance,
There are hearts made of stone.
Which of us can fathom,
The need of greedy power,
The lust for things of this world,
Which abounds in kingly towers.
Within, too, we fossick,
Looking for some grace,
A taste of high and holy things,
To usurp evil's place.
Yet this foraging's not easy,
For even deep within,
Only love's divining,
Can separate from sin.
