Today's word is "Christmastide" ... 1. the festival season from Christmas to after New Year's Day. 2. the period from Christmas Eve to Epiphany, especially in England.

The baby's mangered now,
The shepherds back at work,
The Angels gone to glory,
The world remains berserk.
But Christmastide goes on,
Calling us to peace,
Asking the impossible ...
Joy without relief.
We live through our days,
Bathed in a love unseen,
Salvation's Word inhaled,
Breathed in this inbetween.
