Today's word is "Beforetime" ... bih-FAWR-tahym ... Archaic. Formerly.
When
The sky was filled with cathedral towers,
And bells ringing, and monks singing,
The scripture was read to believing ears,
And disciples trying, the holy crying.
In those darkened ages gone by,
Souls were flying, morals climbing,
Christmas beforetime came with joy,
Angels winging, hallelujahs flinging.
Now through crowded marketplaces,
We are strolling, even, elbowing,
Searching for the glow of truth,
Packages shimmering, tree lights glimmering.
