Lackadaisical ... Soon

Today’s word is “lackadaisical” ... without interest, vigor, or determination; listless; lethargic. (Dictionary.com)

Soon
You can feel them coming,
Lackadaisical summer days,
They are waiting patiently,
Behind spring’s foggy gaze.

It’s too cool for sunning now,
Winter’s barely gone,
The woods have just begun to sing,
They’re relearning summer’s song.

But soon enough we’ll sit in sun,
Lazing ‘til the hour is late,
The memory of cold and snow,
Far from this summer’s garden gate.
