Quill
They worked all day and in the night,
By candle light they toiled,
With chariness they copied words,
No page by ink was soiled.
Flourishes embellished,
Creatures their beauty gave,
Peacocks and fishes winding,
Fins and feathers waved.
After long-lost centuries,
We yet feel their patient stance,
As through their faithful awe-filled work,
The Spirit spins his dance.
