Behindhand ... Tired

Today’s word is “behindhand” ... bih-hahynd-hand ... late; tardy. (Dictionary.com)

Tired
The clocks are an hour ahead of themselves,
And we are all behindhand,
For a week at least,
We won’t know whether to sleep or stand.

Whose idea was it,
To confuse us twice a year?
The sun certainly does not cater
To us, or our hopes and fears.

So we’ll walk around bleary eyed,
Desperate for some sleep,
Until we all adjust,
We’ll keep from counting sheep.
