Gibber ... What?

Today's word is "gibber" ... to speak inarticulately or meaninglessly. to speak foolishly; chatter. (Dictionary.com)

What?

Strident voices all around,

Command us to obey,

They speak with passioned fervor,

But wisdom's not in what they say.

Sometimes it sounds like gibberish,

Senseless and arcane,

Sometimes its reasoning is sparse,

Sometimes it's just profane.

If words did not cause action,

We would't strain or pray,

But since the world is burning,

We need to find a way.
