Today’s word is “schwa” … the mid-central, neutral vowel sound typically occurring in unstressed syllables in English, however spelled, as the sound of a in alone and sofa, e in system, i in easily, o in gallop, u in circus. The most common vowel sound in the English language. (Dictionary.com)
Family
Most of this world is filled,
With us, the ordinary,
Common as a schwa,
Yet we humans vary.
Some of us have “common” sense,
Some no sense at all,
Some make plans for ages,
Some are ready for a fall.
Though our commonalities,
Bind us yet together,
We still need to realize,
We’re the same in many measures.
