Pelt
The storm was coming,
And then it blew,
The tent was shaking,
It would, we knew.
Leaves were flying,
Sticks falling down,
Scattering, clattering,
All over the ground.
Then suddenly it stopped.
Everything was quiet,
We sensed the air osmatically,
The aftermath of riot.
The air was open, cleansed.
As if new upon the earth,
As if these stormy changes,
Had led to a new birth.
