Today’s word is “intercalary” ... inserted or interpolated in the calendar, as an extra day or month.
Gone
Just when you think you’ve got it right,
They change the numbered days,
An intercalary date appears,
And with your mind it plays.
But now we’re safe for four more years,
When we recite the numbers in our heads,
Everything is evened out,
Until those years are finally sped!
