Our situation seems most dire,
Judging from our actions,
Everything we do or say
Divides us into factions.
We have a propensity to war,
To hurt each other darkly,
Reveling in our cruel tricks,
Revealed each day most starkly.
But God thinks us corrigible,
Worthy of love and graces,
If we could only see that too,
In each other’s faces.
