To see the light of God’s great Heaven,
We need no Delphic intervention,
We may approach as we are able,
If we but give our rapt attention.
Listening for every pindrop,
Whether holy syllable or sigh,
Weighing each ephemeral thought,
Sensed from either earth or sky.
We tune our hearts to see His grace,
To feel His stirrings deep within,
We have no other means or end,
Nor any better love to win.
