Just when you think you understand,
All wherefores and whys,
You see sub rosa happenings,
Come forward with a cry.
And you finally realize,
How much you do not know,
As with life you’re taken,
Helpless in its flow.
So faithfully on God we wait,
Confident in his power,
Which sustains and keeps us,
This very day and hour.
