Sometimes a cursed wall falls down,
And separation ends,
Hostilities evaporate,
Old concepts break and bend.
These moments live in infamy,
As watersheds of peace,
Monuments and statues rise,
As captives are released.
Our calendar’s divided,
By one event in time,
When the true Christ did come down,
The humbled one, sublime.
