Today’s word is “quodlibet” ... kwod-luh-bet ... a humorous composition consisting of two or more independent and harmonically complementary melodies, usually quotations of well-known tunes, played or sung together, usually to different texts in a polyphonic arrangement. (dictionary.com)
Words
Everything’s a mishmash,
A quodlibet of sorts,
In which each opinion,
The next trys to abort.
In this fight of words,
No one’s listening at all,
Just more evidence it seems,
For the logic of the fall.
Redemption may still happen,
If stone hearts can be broken,
And love is given half a chance,
While our words are spoken.
