Today's word is "desultory" ... DES-uhl-tawr-ee... digressing from or unconnected with the main subject; random: a desultory remark. Lacking in constancy, or visible order, disconnected; fitful: desultory conversation.
Morning
They were eating breakfast,
Two friends with sugar bread.
And frosting. And rolls with cinnamon.
Enough for four.
They talked and watched their phones,
They watched their phones,
And texted. To eachother.
To someone else? Desultory. Lifeless.
Do we have time for this?
The consuming screens,
When right before us are faces
With eyes full of questions?
