Struggle
Scrimp and save they said to us,
But we never had enough,
Food and tires and medicine,
Simple living was always rough.
It never got a whole lot better,
It took two to pay the bills,
To give a little here and there,
To help cure some human ills.
But somehow we struggled on,
Finally realizing,
There is more than monied things,
In this game of life surviving.
