Fundamental
Red blaze belches,
violence fueled by inner fire.
The stanchless molten river runs;
trees, homes, earthmelt.
Life will return ... one clump of soil,
one seed, one seedling, one tree.
But first the cooling, spark by spark,
lava to rock to earth.
All nature holds her breath.
