Feint ... Dodge

Today’s word is “feint” ... feynt ... a movement made in order to deceive an adversary; an attack aimed at one place or point merely as a distraction from the real place or point of attack. (Dictionary.com)

Dodge
There is a hound of heaven,
Who, though we feint and weave,
Follows and forgives us,
(Even when we disbelieve.)

His footsteps never falter,
Though we may weary be,
Through twists and turns unending,
He waits to set us free.

It may be a bit unsettling,
That he knows our hearts so well.
Yet there’s comfort in his gaze,
Grace, everywhere he dwells.
