Water

Wave follows wave,

     in eurythmic harmony,

          down the beach;

               alive in cold fall air.

Soon, under winter’s spell,

      they will freeze in place,

          mute witnesses to summer past.
But energy being everything,
      warm spring winds will breathe
          resurrection.
