Drupe ... Sweet

Today's word is "drupe" ... droop ... Botany. any fruit, as a peach, cherry, plum, etc., consisting of an outer skin, a usually pulpy and succulent midddle layer, and a hard and woody inner shell usually enclosing a single seed. (Dictionary.com)

Sweet
One day when summer visits true,
And sun warms us all the day,
The dupes will ripen temptingly,
As hours we while away.

We too mature through  sunny days,
An d stormy hours as well,
In fact where greater growth occurs,
Is very hard to tell.
