Today's word is "anthophilous" ... an-THOF-uh-lu s ... attracted by or living among flowers. (Dictionary.com)
Tulip
Mid-march. Searching grass for bulbs.
Hoping for anthophilous wonder ...
Any sign of approaching spring.
Warm breezes and robin sightings,
Nesting swans and airborne bugs,
Sun, warm enough to shed coats.
We'll willfully forget winter's rage.
And cling to the fantastic notion,
That winter never was, and that delight's eternal.
