Today's word is "calliopean" ... kuh-lahy-uh-PEE-uh n ... piercingly loud; resembling a calliope in sound. (Dictionary.com)
Flakes
Winter quiet's broken,
By the first bird song on wing,
And calliopean thunderclaps,
That a spring rainstorm brings.
It may be a little premature,
To praise sunlight on our skin,
But we would rather be outside,
Not stuck for months within.
