We were driving on the road,
En route from here to there,
Above us little birds were perched,
On lightposts in the air.
They chattered their soliloquies,
Into the graying afternoon,
Mutterings about their lives,
What they'd be doing soon.
We continued on our way,
Constructing human plans,
Oblivious of the avain thoughts,
Which high above us ran.
