Inspiration
Sometimes the words inside my head,
Are Pierian in their sound,
Bouncing into one another,
Like tiny birds who've lost their ground.
But when sleepiness or hurry call,
And syllables wander far away,
They must be coaxed back into hand,
And molded like a sculptor's clay.
The results of this process strange,
The pulling and teasing of letters small,
Can be wondrous, magical or ridiculous,
Depending on how the words all fall.
