Memory
Sometimes you think you know,

Exactly what's been said,

But a tricky mondegreen,

May surprise instead.

Your whole life you've hung onto,

Words that cut you to the core,

Then realize you're mistaken,

Because there was something more.

That things were really better,

Than you imagined at the time,

And that good will come alive,

Once you've recognized the signs.
