Alight ... Sense

Today's word is "alight" ... to settle or stay after descending: The bird alighted on the tree.

Sense
In the darkness,
hope alights like an
owl, silent, silhouetted 
against the moon,
noticed only by those
who practice mindfulness,
those who wait and watch
for a break in the clouds,
a beam of light or 
haunting cry.
