Still
We are a récherché people,
formed from the dust,
Yet saved from ourselves by God.
Why would He give us
chance after chance?
Even after our dismissal of Him?
After all we’ve done,
and all we’ve failed to do,
Only a loving parent would
continue to hold out his hand.
