Signs
Little green leaves, turning brown,
Orange and red and yellow,
Squirrels burying acorn crowns,
(Such industrious fellows!)
A scent of woodsmoke traveling,
On vagarious wind aloft,
Through the forest wondering,
Stealthy, silent, soft.
Tender birds arrowing south,
Wings whispering their flight,
So gives the season over,
To coming winter's might.
